How's a going everyone , is really been a long time since my last update ... yeah ... literally '' rushing '' with all sort of things , ( * fast forward skip * ) .
So here on today's post , I'll be sharing my little experience & little Q & A about travelling to Pulau Pangkor ( Pangkor island ) , so if you're planning to go to Pangkor or haven't visited Pangkor here will be so info & reason for you to visit them ! Stay tune & let's get starting ~~~~
Ps . my laggy camera kinda limit my photo here ( * please don't get mad * ) but i'll try to sort things out making understandable ^.^
hey , look what i found ~
Pulau Pangkor ( Pangkor island ) , i believe it wouldn't be an unfamiliar name to most of us , even you never been there , least heard of them ! The clear blue sea water there , relaxing & calming atmosphere , not to mention the mesmerizing sunset , surely a perfect gateway for a healing trip ~
Beside healing , there's also plenty outdoor activities for you to try out , from diving , banana boat & so much more !
Question that frequently been ask ( before heading ) :
1 . Can we travel there by car ?
NO , you HAVE to take ferry once you reach Lumut , there will be whole lot's of parking space ( building ) that keep you're loving vehicle from sun & rain , and of course NOT free lah ~ As for rate will be roughly 0.80 sen per hour .
Willing or not , there's no other choice unless you have '' extra '' cash to be spend , you can always travel by airplane .
2. How about motorcycle ?
Good news , as far as i know , you can travel your motorcycle together all the way to Pangkor , but ONLY for motorcycle ,
NO other vehicle is allow ! ( unless you're magician , or able to turn your car to pocket size , else is literally impossible ! )
3 . Then , how to travel when we reach the island ?
You can either pick the pink teksi van , RM80 for 2 hour to have a guide tour around the island , or other choice will be renting car , motorcyle , even bicycle . Rate for car renting will be plus minus RM 80 per day , personally prefer renting a car since i can adjust my time accordingly without any rush .
Another choice will be walking , yah ~ i know it sound crazy right now , but no really when you head there !
4 . Where to rent car or fetch the pink van ?
No worries , you can spot them as soon as you step out from the jetty of Pangkor . ( there's plenty of them )
5. Where can i get souvenir ( native store ) ?
Souvenir might no be a difficult thing to find in Pangkor but if you're referring food such as ikan bilis ( anchovy ) , dry squid etc then it might be quite difficult especially in '' normal days '' ( not public / school holiday ) , base on locals they only open on public & school holiday ( since there more crowd ) .
Without little souvenir is like a little missing piece of puzzle left out in the whole journey , so to make it perfect , here's my good news !
You can always get your souvenir near Pangkor / Lumut jetty , there's row of small store where
they sell little souvenir & also locals must buy food , no worries !
6 . So all store are close on '' normal day '' ?
Definitely NO ! Restaurant , convenience store are still open even normal day , no worries tho ~ But keep in mind , some store do close early at night so little advice do go early , 6 - 7 pm is still fine ! And of course only some , so you can still enjoy the night ( * weird * , what you're thinking might right now is not what i mean here , don't twist ok ) ~
Little advice & tips :
1 . Pack light but essential
Remember ! The amount of luggage weight will be the exact amount of you dragging & carrying all the way up to the ferry ! So little tips again , go for backpack , as it'll be much convenient compare to hand / drag suitcase !
Cause the utmost issue of '' drag suitcase '' will totally be the limit space of keeping the luggage especially when it comes to small ferry !
Nevertheless , is still not really recommendable ( cause the struggle of placing your luggage is real * face palm * ) , but if you really insist on it go for a small to maybe small medium size suitcase will still do ~
2. Dine in early
Not sure if many restaurant open up to 11.00pm or midnight , but do keep this in mind , some of the restaurant there DO close earlier that you thought !
3. Stuff some instant cup noodle up ( * smirk * )
If you're a person like me who have unexplainable '' complicate relationship '' with food & always craving for them , then little snack & cup noodle is a MUST !
Ok lah ~~~ To be frank , food lover or not , DO pack a little snack tho , cause after those outdoor activities it will be extremely , so so much more convenient to have little snack in hand to refill those glucose & your tummy ( * lol * ) ! Trust me , you will need them ~~~
4 . Crowd or without , can be a choice !
If you choose to travel during public holiday or any festive season , one thing you should keep in mind , '' the crowd '' , it will be no joke ! Although it might be much convenient ( cause shop are open ) but it will be seriously crowd ( based on locals ) !
Same goes to '' normal day '' less in crowd , however some shops are closed ( of course , i don't mean non of the shop are open just some s . o . m . e ~~~ & is still pretty convenient to find those '' needs '' there , no worries ! )
Conclusion is ( wah~ like SPM essay format * lol * ) , it really depends on you & your travel style ! Little advice , if you're photographer , urge for a perfect photo for Instagram or aiming for a healing holiday , '' normal days '' is highly recommended !
Where to stay ? Any recommendation ?
There's lot's of accommodation choice tho , from hotel , apartment , chalet etc .
And again if you're travelling during peak season do ensure you made booking for it !
So as for me , we went to this hotel which footsteps to the beach ( actually most of the hotel were near to the beach tho , but somehow my family is kinda fond with it even at first glance * lol * ) - Pangkor Sandy Beach Resort ! I will drop they're website * here * do check them out , as for the price range is pretty reasonable & not overcharge !
As for the room is pretty comfy tho , somehow it feels as if you're at home more that hotel tho ( * i wonder if is just me * ) .
Here's why , there's plug almost every ( beside bed , beside table etc ) , there's 2 air conditioning in a room ( not sure about other room but i definitely never been through any hotel that offer '' 2 controllable air conditioning '' in a room ! ) , last but not least , don't be shock ok , let me present '' standing fan '' ! Frankly , i NEVER seen any standing fan in a hotel room , like never ever !
Shock at first yes , later onward i kinda appreciative the way the owner of hotel designed by putting effort on customer comfort & actually thought of customer tho ! That standing fan there will tell you its benefit , here's one of all scenario , the moment you step into the room with you're deep soaked body by the pool water or even after taking bath !
Just in case you wonder , yeah ~ it is a REAL hornbill , daily waiting for their breakfast ! But no need to worry lah they won't steal your food , you're food will be safe & sound ~
Little cons will be breakfast tho , the amount of choice is really limited ! If is DURING '' NORMAL DAYS '' instead of general hotel buffet style , they do it '' weirdly ? , " awkwardly ? '' by going with a menu of 4 set choice & each person per set , WITHOUT any refill can be done , but only coffee , tea & bread are available for the refill !
All i can say is the things that bother me the most , is the poor & insufficient proportion per set ! I'm not a person who take heavy breakfast or something but this way to '' light '' tho ! Even my mom who takes extremely light breakfast were surprise by the amount ! ( no joke , you know , mom's is always right especially when it comes to amount * opps * )
- THE END -
Hopefully it answer all the question , & once again i apologies for the limited photo display here , but i sincerely want to share this magnificent place to you guys out there ! Highly recommend you guys to explore them ~ Just in case i missed out any , do feel free to drop your question on the comment section below ~
